Fellowship Application
Since Covid, the HRC Fellows Program has evolved from an in-person, semester-long experience into a virtual writers’ retreat held during Georgia State’s four-week Maymester session. Faculty members in the humanities and the humanistic social sciences may apply to join this annual cohort of fellows who meet twice per week doing Maymester to share their writing goals and strategies. The aim is to create a collegial atmosphere in which fellows discuss their accomplishments and challenges in a supportive environment. During the following academic year, the fellows have the opportunity to share and discuss a work-in-progress at HRC workshops attended by colleagues from a wide range of disciplines. Fellows also receive $1000 either as a summer salary or for professional development to support their research activities.
To apply, submit a three-page (1000-word) statement of your research interests and goals, explaining what you hope to accomplish in terms of research and writing during the semester, along with a two-page CV. We are particularly interested in supporting faculty who plan to apply for external grants, but all are welcome to submit a proposal. The application deadline is March 1.
