The humanities explore how people understand and tell stories about the human experience, including literature, philosophy, history, the arts, and related disciplines. Founded by the College of Arts and Sciences in Fall 2017, the Humanities Research Center (HRC) provides a venue for interdisciplinary collaboration across the humanities and beyond. In addition to supporting the research activities of humanities faculty and graduate students, the HRC seeks to improve the visibility of the important work being done by humanities scholars at Georgia State and by humanists more generally. To accomplish that goal, the HRC organizes and hosts events that bring together faculty, students, staff, and the general public to participate in conversations about topics of broad public interest and debate.
